My journey into this field began with a series of pivotal experiences that shaped my perspective. Reading “Machines of Loving Grace” by Dario Amodei sparked my excitement about AI’s potential to drive meaningful change across domains, while “The Lessons of History” by Will Durant challenged my skepticism about technology’s societal value and ignited my commitment to using AI for empowerment and progress.
These insights have guided my research endeavors, which build upon my interdisciplinary background in music, AI, and HCI. Projects like ReLyMe, where I integrated music theory into AI-driven melody generation, exemplify my approach of incorporating domain knowledge to enhance interpretability and align AI outputs with human values. Similarly, my work on PDAugment, which transformed speech data into singing data to address data scarcity, highlights the potential of creative data augmentation techniques to promote diversity and inclusion in AI.
Looking ahead, I remain open and excited to explore a wide range of problems and application areas within AI for social good and interpretable AI. I believe that the key to finding the most impactful research directions lies in engaging with diverse perspectives and being responsive to the needs of the communities we aim to serve.
